While I am guessing it isn't news in the States, there is a trucking strike taking place here in Spain. Across the country truckers are blocking roads and freeways to protest the rising price of fuel and, in turn, the reduction of their income.

The strike started yesterday and you could almost immediately see the effect in the many markets here in Barcelona. Fruits and veggies are in short supply, which suck, because I forgot to stock up on Saturday (virtually all markets are closed on Sunday).
