I couldn't have said it any better myself. It's a turn-off to see people you look up to in business (and in life) being such jags.
I started unfollowing people this week, starting with PR's "Strumpette," Amanda Chapel. Maybe some people find the sauciness appealing, but I found myself asking, "If I needed a good PR person—which I'm sure Chapel is—would I hire her?"
Answer: No. Way.
But I'm interested in the psychology of it...you wouldn't see half of these people acting like such dicks on their blogs, but on Twitter it seems like anything goes.

Funny you should say that - I unfollowed Amanda last week as well. Seemed like all she did is bitch and fight with people...totally annoying.
I'm interested in the psychology of it as well. Not sure if these "A-List" bloggers just need to vent, or if they are getting more sensitive in their old age.
Seems like on Twitter people are quick to react to comments and tend to be a little more emotional/irrational. In the end, the people who are pissing off the people with a bunch of followers are getting followings of their own...like Loren Feldman. I would have never have know about the guy if it weren't for people reacting to him on Twitter.

Bah. I had high hopes for Twitter. Between the bitching and the spam followers, I'm growing weary. I suppose I'll be more prudent about who I'm following and who's following me.
Interesting point about the irrationality factor; maybe the immediacy of Twitter doesn't bode well for thinking before speaking. Again...the psychology!
