How Microsoft Should Market Itself

Seth Godin pointed to this post, and I was both amazed and very pleasantly surprised to see what Bill Gates is capable of.

I’m not sure why Microsoft doesn’t tap into Bill’s silly skills more often…God knows they could kick the crap out of the Mac ads with some funny Bill spots.

Yeah James I agree, I forgot all about this spot. A friend of mine showed me this awhile ago. I think that's what's missing with Microsoft. Bill Gates is so mysterious and he's essentially a legend, but he doesn't step out from behind the primary-colored Windows curtain and show the rest of us who he really is...He could single handedly make Microsoft more personable...does he even have a blog?
