Ferrari Money

Ferrari MoneyHere are two totally unrelated Ferrari stories that I found on Autoblog that I just got to share:

  1. How much does it cost to own a Ferrari? No, I’m not talking about the sticker price (in this case it was a ridiculous $225,000) – I am talking about maintenance costs and fixing broken parts. I’m not going to give it away, but this story will show you that even if you could scrape together a quarter-million bucks to buy a Ferrari, you still better have some insane cash to fix the damn thing. As one commenter says at Autoblog – “For $250,000, the thing should be able to fix itself.”
  2. The other Ferrari story is about the Ferrari Formula 1 team. In 2007 my favorite F1 driver, Kimi Raikkonen will be moving from the horribly unreliable McLaren Mercedes team to the world-class Ferrari team. So how much will Kimi be making in his new driver’s role at Ferrari? Just under a million dollars…a week. That’s right, the going rate for one of the best race drivers in the world is $51,000,000 a year – and that doesn’t even include endorsements. So I guess Kimi will be one of the elite who will be able to afford the repair bill on his personal Ferrari.

Kimi is a low life, no personality, drunk. No one in the next decade will replace Michael Schumacher at Ferrari or any other F1 Team. In this day and age, race car drivers have to be promoters as well as great behind the wheel. Kimi is no promoter and he will never be able to do what Micheal did. Schumacher brought Ferrari from a 4th rate team behind Williams, Benaton and Mclaren and showed Ferrari how to set up a car. It took 2 years to get the team on the right track but then it was nothing but wins. The great one has retired and Massa is going to be #1 at Ferrari. Not that low life Raikkonen. What are you thinking? Are you Finnish or something? Don't get me going.
PS - Do you know how much it costs to replace the brakes on your Bimmer? Its all relative, isn't it? Oh yeh, you're too tall to fit in a Ferrari anyway. Kimi is your favorite???? You have got to be crazy. STOP

Posted twice to make sure you're paying attention.

Aw Pops...I knew you were going to get fired up about that.

No one will replace Michael...but Kimi is a damn good driver. I agree that he is no showman, but that is kinda his show...the no-show show. You know?

No matter what, I would love to party with Kimi...that guy has gotta get crazy like Puffy.

I though I told you that he won't stop, I thought I told you that he won't stop...uh huh, uh huh.
